I will say that this movie is not for everyone. I think it's not even for ppl who love vampires but only certain kinds.
Yes, this move makes sure the vampire is the villain. No mistakes about it. You want him to meet his end. A real monster.
But the pacing is slow, the visuals play a lot with darkness and shadows. The acting was very good. William Defoe was my favorite, but he's also the most charismatic character in the movie.
As a hardcore vampire fan, I did enjoy it. But me, I knew what the plot would be, the ending had a dark twist. Not a lot of action at all. It's heavy on suspense and drama.
Is it one of my favorite vampire films? No. Does it make my top ten? No. But I liked it well enough for the story and characters.
I will say, I enjoy damn near any MM situation I can find. Lol. The man-on-man bite scene made me smile even though the other male was a damn creature. Yeah, I was still looking like:
FINAL VERDICT: INNOCENT LIKE MY NERVES THAT GOT FRAZZLED WHENEVER I SAW THOSE RATS. Movie, you did a good job and I'm happy to be able to release you back on the streets. Bailiff, escort him out, please. Thank you.
